I was there as well to see Daniel again after seeing him at the Dakota. The talking crowd definitely ruined the experience though. It seemed everyone was completely quiet for Wooly Leaves which was great but then they started talking and didn’t stop once Baby Eagle preformed the electric set. I think if they are going to have an acoustic headliner again at The Shop the opening bands should be acoustic as well which would cut back on the chatter generated by an electric set.

Yeah, the quiet music/talky crowd things drives me crazy sometimes.

I’m sure there’s lots of venues that cater to folkie/singer-songwriter types that just aren’t really on my radar as much, and probably places that cater to the older/more well-heeled crowd that is willing to pay more, sit down and shut up (like, say Hugh’s Room). It’s just that those aren’t the shows I’m usually going to.

Holy Oak is a nice spot, though I don’t even get there as much as I’d like to. Music Gallery, of course. Otherwise, there’s not so many places where people are there for the music and not, say to drink/chat.
