Bruce Peninsula are playing two shows this week at the Music Gallery. Here they are at the Bellwoods House last spring before everyone moved out. I sure am glad I was there to film it! What a beaut!
Continuing with the anniversary celebrations, here’s another recently uncovered gem from earlier this year. I’m not sure why I never posted this the first time ’round, but it’s totally the only video like it on the internet! Sebby G himself has gone blog crazy in recent weeks, so ch-ch-check it out!
Here’s another video from last week’s Friends in Bellwoods 2 release show. It’s everyone singing Sarah’s song from the compilation. If you wait until after the credits, you’ll be treated to a special moment involving a pantsless Tim Fagan. Well worth watching.
I think the only way to properly follow-up a video of Ohbijou is with another video of Ohbijou. It’s been ten days and really, this is all I have! That’s alright though, ’cause this video features a special guest in the shape of John O’Regan, singer of The D’Urbervilles and Pitchfork’s #1 crush. He’s no stranger to this blog either, in fact, he was in the three posts prior to the last one! I really need to befriend some new bands or something.
Sunday night was Heavy Vessel, which is a new music series here in Toronto. I’m not sure how often it’s happening, but the basic premise is to get a few bands to play unamplified in a ship in the middle of a sandbox in park. I was really looking forward to seeing just that on Sunday, but the temperature dropped so the show got moved inside. Nevertheless, we were still treated to a wonderfully intimate show with great sets from Diamond Rings, Rolf Klausener and Bruce Peninsula. All the money from the event goes towards Friends in Bellwoods, which in turn gets donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank, so don’t miss the next show. I shot some video, of course, which is now on YouTube. I got Diamond Rings and Rolf. Check out Aviva’s blog to get your BP fix.
